1.介系詞是用在名詞或其同等語之前，表示該名詞或其同等語和句中其他成分之間關(guān)系的字。介系詞是虛字，不能單獨(dú)充當(dāng)句子成分。

I am concerned about her health?

我對(duì)她的健康感到擔(dān)憂。

about是介系詞。

2.在介系詞后的名詞或其同等語是介系詞的受詞。

There is an apple on the table.

桌子上有一個(gè)蘋果。

the table是介系詞on的受詞。

3.介系詞從形式上來分有四種。

類別1:只有一個(gè)字的簡單介系詞。如:

at, before, for, from, in, next, of, over, since, to, under, with

類別2:由兩個(gè)字合成的合成介系詞。如:

inside, into, out of, outside, upon, within, without

類別3:由兩個(gè)介系詞組成的雙重介系詞。如:

from among(從...當(dāng)中), from behind(從...后面), till after(直到...之后)。

類別4:由兩個(gè)或多個(gè)單字組成的片語介系詞。如:

at the end of(在...最后), according to(根據(jù)), because of(由于), by means of(以...為手段), in case of(萬一), in need of(需要), in front of(在...之前), in spite of(盡管...還是), instead of(代替), owing to(由于)。
